The Napa County Library Foundation has a special public-private relationship with the community, providing individuals and groups a means by which they can give monetary support to one of our most cherished treasures -- The Napa County Library.
In February 2020, the Library Foundation was able to award the library system with a check for $55,000.
Since it was incorporated in August of 1984, the Napa County Library Foundation has had many community donors. The Foundation was first funded by a generous donation from Grace Kermode. The articles of incorporation were handled by librarian Nan Vaaler, who left the Foundation a generous bequest. Our current endowment is $1,364,552 and we are working towards a goal of $2,000,000 by 2025. The Foundation endowment provides income every year to fill budget gaps arising from restricted funding and an unpredictable economy and allows the library to maintain services without interruption.

The Napa County Library Foundation is a non-profit organization with a special public-private partnership with the community, providing individuals and businesses a means to give monetary support to one of our most cherished treasures: the Napa County Library.
The Napa County Library provides free:
- Borrowing of books, newspapers, magazines, and digital data
- Streaming of movies, TV shows, music, eBooks, and eAudiobooks
- Links to other libraries across the nation
- Homework and tutorial help
- Online High School
- Literacy Reference: improve reading skills, learn English as a Second Language
- Job Search database
- Passes to local museums and cultural institutions
- Legal reference books and forms
- 3D Printer training
- Internet services
- Resume building
- Children’s puzzles, activities, games, and storytelling
- Meet an Artist one-on-one at “Art in the Library”
